Macau’s quarterly unemployment rate has reached a two-year hight, following the global financial crisis, particularly the suspension of casino projects.
The latest unemployment rate for the third quarter (September to November) of the year is 3.3%, with the unemployed population of about 11,000.
Meanwhile, the total number of non-local workers by the end of November is 95,000, a reduction of 8,700 from 104,000 in September.
On the other hand, there are 800 more unemployed people in comparison with the previous quarter.
The figures show that the Government’s policy of ensuring the local population’s job security functions well so far.
