‘Waterspout’ appeared in Macau

Waterspout was reportedly appeared in Macau yesterday morning (7 June), which swept away some items placed in fishing boats.

The Macao Daily News quoted a resident, who also provided a photo, as saying that the waterspout was generated at the exit of the Inner Harbour, whose height stretched as high as the Macau Tower.

The waterspout moved rapidly northwards, but was dissipated at the waters near Ponte No. 16.

Meanwhile, officers of the Geophysical and Meteorological Bureau confirmed that they have received a report of waterspout, but could not confirm whether this was the case.

There were about 30 reports of waterspouts received by the Bureau since 1965.
