A man from mainland China was arrested after being found cashing in faked chips at a casino.

The man was arrested on Sunday (25 May) upon arrival at the border, attempting to cash in more faked chips after being successful in doing so in early March.

The Judiciary Police received a report from Wynn Macau that they found 44 fake HKD5,000 chips.

Further investigations show that the suspect placed bet using fake chips when croupiers were busy, or requested exchanges for chips with smaller values when croupiers were unaware.

Police found 149 chips and 444 labels from the suspect, who admitted that he prepared to use more faked chips in his visit this time.

Mainland Chinese police has been contacted for further investigations, and the Judiciary Police in Macau said that the possibility for faking casino chips in large quantities cannot be ruled out.
