Chui Sai On was elected the third Chief Executive of the Macau Special Administrative Region, with 282 returns, fall short of four returns he received at nomination.
There are also 14 blank returns.
A total of 296 out of 300 electoral college members voted at the Chief Executive election, which was held at Macau Dome from 10:00 today (26 July).
However, one member, legislator José Pereira Coutinho, chose not to cast his ballot, saying that he reserved his personal opinion on an ideal Chief Executive.
Chui Sai On receives half of the returns of the electoral college, which makes him elected to be the third Chief Executive of Macau.
A ceremony will be held on 28 July to mark the founding of the chamber for Macau’s gaming industry. (more…)
