Flash: National Security Bill passed third reading

The Legislative Assembly has just passed the bill on national security.

More than 100 residents, among them government and association representatives, came to the Legislative Assembly to hear the proceedings of the meeting. There are also residents gathered in front of the building to express support for the bill.

The Legislative Assembly notified the police to conduct searches to visitors before they came into the building, which was rare in the Assembly’s practice.

The Government said in a statement that it feels encouraged as the bill has passed, and training to law executing officers and judicial personnel will be conducted in due course.

The bill will become law the day after its publication on the Gazette.
